About GH

Grantham Hall (GH), formerly known as “Hostel B”, was formally named to commemorate the former educational institution, the Grantham College of Education which was established in 1951.

The Naming Ceremony of GH was officiated by Mr Szeto Wah, Chairman of the Grantham College of Education Past Students’ Association; Prof. Bernard Luk, Vice President (Academic) of the HKIEd; and Dr. So Kwok Sang, the very first Warden of GH on 30 October 2004, in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Institute of Education (renamed to The Education University of Hong Kong on 27 May 2016).

GH aims to provide a pleasant living and learning environment which is conducive to the student residents’ personal character formation, friendship cultivation, professional advancement and leadership development. Through immersing themselves in numerous exciting and joyful hall activities, our student residents are expected to experience unforgettable memories of their university lives.

The GH Tutors and Student Residents’ Association Members carry our hall life education under the leadership of the ‘Three Olds’ - Warden, Senior Tutor and Hall Officer. The daily operation is carried out by a group of committed staff in GH. They all work together with a high morale to provide an enjoyable and learning environment for student residents in GH.
